Among all the forest parks in Yunnan, there are some really worth mentioning.
Potatso National Park:
Located in Shangri-La, it is China's first national park. There are mirror-like lakes, beautiful pastures with abundant water and grass, and primitive forests visited by birds and animals from time to time.
Mopan Mountain National Park:
Located in Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County, Yuxi City, it is the most well-preserved forest park in the central Yunnan region. The park has dense vegetation and a forest coverage rate of 83.4%, making it a natural "Forest Oxygen Storage".
Sun-River National Park:
Located in the southeast of Simao District, Pu'er City, it is a place full of wild charm. There are various rare animals and plants in the park, and is one of the most important manifestations of biodiversity in Yunnan.
Ailao Mountain National Natural Reserve:
Located in Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Prefecture, it is a southern extension of Yunling. The park has a complex terrain, high mountains and deep valleys. Various rare animals and plants thrive here, forming an unique forest ecological landscape.
Nangunhe River National Natural Reserve:
Located in Lincang City, it is a nature reserve primarily aimed at protecting forest ecosystems and rare wildlife. The reserve has dense vegetation and a favorable ecological environment, making it one of the most important ecological barriers in Yunnan.
