Kunming Wintersweet Festival in Heilongtan Park

The 25th Kunming Wintersweet Festival is scheduled to be held from December 23, 2020 to February 28, 2021.

Heilongtan Park is the largest landscape wintersweet garden in southwestern China. More than 20,000 ground-planted wintersweet and more than 6,000 potted plants have been planted in the park. There are a total of more than 200 wintersweet blossom varieties, including 23 rare and precious varieties unique to Yunnan. Kunming City has hosted three National wintersweet exhibitions in Heilongtan Park.

At present, the wintersweet in Heilongtan Park have begun to bloom. In the miniature tree garden, more than 30 pots of plums are blooming one after another. When the wind blows you can smell the fragrance. In the ground-planted plum garden, more than 200 clusters of plums have staggered branches and the branches. Full of yellow flowers.

According to the person in charge of Heilongtan Park, the leaves of wintersweet will fall off automatically in low temperature weather, revealing the classic landscaping view with only branches left. The brown branches set off with yellow and white flowers, which are gorgeous. However, the low temperature in Kunming does not meet the requirements for natural shedding, so the staff in Heilongtan Park generally requires manual leaf picking.

In addition to wintersweet, the red maple, ginkgo and other seasonal plants in Heilongtan Park are also in the best viewing period.
