All entry-exit personnel shall submit health declaration, which would be reviewed by customs of the ports to check if they have been to epidemic-stricken country or area within 14 days or have had close contact with confirmed cases. Health declaration form is translated in ten-plus languages and could be filled in via a specifically-developed App on mobile phone before they arrive at the port. The App will generate a QR code for inspection at the port after online application.

How to prevent imported COVID-19 cases at entry-exit ports?

Entry-exit personnel shall strictly implement the following measures: firstly, see to it that health declaration is made without omission, body temperature is taken across the board and medical inspection is strictly implemented. Secondly, should there be anyone with symptoms, coming from heavily epidemic-stricken country or area, or having contact with confirmed or suspected cases, such measures as epidemiology screening, medical screening and lab testing and screening shall be strictly implemented. Thirdly, make sure that confirmed and suspected cases, cases with symptoms and close contacts are transferred to centralized sites for quarantine or medical observation.

Strengthen the ventilation and disinfection of aircrafts and airports, do a good job in measuring the temperature of entry-exit passengers, intensifying personal protection and health management of frontline personnel including crew members and security personnel, and timely providing epidemic prevention and control guidance for airlines and airports, etc. In light of the spread of epidemic in some countries and regions, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has formulated region-specific and multi-level epidemic control measures in accordance with the epidemic situation and flight operating characteristics of affected country or area to distinguish flight operation risks, implement differentiated management, and achieve precise prevention and make targeted policy.

As the epidemic is spreading in many countries, will cross-border travel be restricted?

How can Chinese citizens stranded in countries where the epidemic is prevailing return to China?

In response to the issue of stranded Chinese citizens, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has established a coordination mechanism for international flight, and will release flight schedule on a regular basis after coordinating with airlines both at home and abroad. Going forward, Civil Aviation Administration will maintain close contact with our embassies and consulates abroad in accordance with the epidemic situation, and arrange overtime or chartered flights to send Chinese citizens back to China if necessary.
