Wetland Parks around Kunming

 Ancient Yunnan Kingdom Wetland Park

Ancient Yunnan Kingdom Wetland Park is located in Jinning County,about 35 kilometers away from Kunming downtown. The architectural design of the Ancient Yunnan Kingdom Wetland Park enjoys ingenious Yunnan-style characteristics. 

The park is decorated with wide range of lavender fields. Pontoons and footpaths are available in the park. Yihai Pier and other attractions are also some of the exciting spots.

Yupuhanquan Wetland Park

Yupuhanquan Wetland Park is about 23 kilometers away from Kunming downtown.  So far it is a rather lesser well known wetland park in Kunming. The park is based on the Chinese water culture which presents seventeen scenes of Yupu.

Haidong Wetland Park

There are many wetland parks along East Huanhu Road, but Haidong Wetland Park is perhaps the most attravtive one. It is only 18km from Kunming  city centre. Haidong Wetland Park is connected with Dianchi Lake, with many aquatic plants, terrestrial plants and flowers forming a beautiful view of the landscape.

Laoyuhe Wetland Park

Laoyuhe Wetland Park is 31 km from Kunming. There are about 1.2 million tulips in Laoyuhe Wetland Park every spring, attracting locals and visitors. It is also one of the ideal spots for taking breathtaking photos.

East River Wetland Park

East River Wetland Park is located in Kunyang Township, Jinning County. And it is the largest estuarine wetland in Kunming. The introduction of new wetland plants and existing plants constitute the estuary ecological communities. Due to the fact that East River Wetland Park merges with Dianchi Lake, it also becomes a part of the Dianchi Lake ecological system.

Dianchi National Wetland Park

Dianchi National Wetland Park is located within the largest migration route of migratory birds in western China. The wetland is rich in biodiversity. It has special and important ecological functions, such as improving water quality of Dianchi Lake.

Xihua Wetland Park

Xihua Wetland Park is located in the west shore of Dianchi Lake. Reeds are growing rapidly, forming a natural boardwalk in the park. Couples like to take wedding photos here. It is also being called the garden of Western Hills.

Baofeng Wetland Park

Baofeng Wetland Park is located in the north shore of Dianchi Lake, next to the entrance of Baoxiang River. It is the nearest wetland park in Kunming and it only has 17 km from the city centre. The park is composed of Linshan Water Bank, viewing platform and a bamboo path.
