As one of the native ethnic minorities of Yunnan, the Naxis mainly live in Lijiang and they have been well-known both in China and abroad. The Naxi ethnic culture is deemed a living fossil among Yunnan’s ethnic culture. What is famous among the Naxi ethnic culture includes the Naxi ethnic costumes, namely “wearing the Moon and stars”, the “walking marriage” of the Mosuo people living by the Lugu Lake, the history of Chieftain Mu, the Dongba hieroglyph and the Naxi ethnic orchestra etc.
